Agave attenuata

Size:
Clumping plant to 1.5m in height and spread.

Position:
Full sun to shade

Care:
Plant in well drained soil and if planting in pots, be sure to use good quality succulent and cacti potting mix which will contain an increased proportion of sand to keep succulents from staying too wet. Water more in Summer and little or not at all in Winter. Protect from frost and handle carefully due to soft fleshy leaves.

Uses:
Strikingly bold foliage structure makes Agave attenuata great for feature pots or effective foliage contrast in low maintenance, low water-use gardens. The large rosette-like plant form offers simple clean lines and creates a statement against contemporary architecture. Flower spikes are large and appear in the shape of a swan's neck, thus giving the plant it's common name: Swan's Neck Agave. Tolerates coastal conditions.
