Roses

The Rose world is endless and still remain one of the all time favourite flowering plants for millions of people all over the world.

Modern Rose varieties come in many forms and are generally categorised under the following: ground cover, bush (shrubs), climbing, Delbards (French forms), David Austins (English forms), miniatures, patios and Rugosas (old garden roses). Very popular rose varieties may also be available in standard forms (pruned into what appears to be a lollipop shape).

Hybrid Tea roses are very popular in floral arrangements as they hold their flower shape well, are generally tighter with high-centred buds and typically have single terminal blooms. Although the flowers of Hybrid Tea Roses are very attractive, their growth habit is quite upright and their foliage is not very dense, making them less effective in the landscape.

Floribunda roses are great for landscape impact as they flower abundantly (as their name suggests) with multiple flowers on one stem and are generally bushier with more foliage than hybrid tea roses. Unlike Hybrid Tea Roses, Floribunda Roses do not hold their petals or shape for very long and therefore are not good cut flowers.
